Drug Prevention - 2026
Building a Drug-Free Campus: Drug Prevention Awareness Programme 2026 at S.E.A. PU College
At S.E.A. Composite PU College, student well-being goes hand-in-hand with academic growth. To address one of the most pressing challenges facing today’s youth, the college organized a Drug Prevention Awareness Programme for all students.
The goal was clear: to foster a drug-free campus, educate students on the risks of substance abuse, and empower them to make responsible, informed choices for their future.
Inaugural Address: Choosing Discipline and Health
The programme began with an inspiring address by Sri D. T. Srinivas Sir, MLC, South-East Teachers’ Constituency, Government of Karnataka and Secretary, S.E.A. Group of Institutions
He spoke about the importance of leading a disciplined and healthy lifestyle. Highlighting the damaging effects of drug abuse, he explained how it impacts not just physical health and mental well-being, but also education, career goals, and future aspirations.
His words encouraged students to uphold strong values, exercise sound judgment, and stay away from negative influences.
Expert Session by Police Officials
The session was further enriched by two senior officers from the Bengaluru City Police:
- Sri Ram Murthy, S.P., K.R. Puram Police Station
- Smt. Reena Suwarna, ACP, Whitefield Subdivision
They addressed the growing menace of drug trafficking and drug influence among students. The officers explained:
- The legal implications of drug possession and trafficking
- The importance of early intervention and seeking help
- The collective responsibility of students, parents, and society in combating this issue
Through real-life case studies and practical guidance, the session was highly engaging, thought-provoking, and impactful. Students were urged to be vigilant, support peers, and report any suspicious activities.
Live Address by Hon’ble Chief Minister>
The workshop concluded with a live virtual address by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka from Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru. Our students attended the address along with thousands of youth across the state, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a Nasha Mukta Karnataka.
The Drug Awareness Workshop was not just an event, but a commitment. It gave our students the knowledge to recognize risks, the courage to say “No,” and the responsibility to help build a safer community.
We sincerely thank Sri D.T. Srinivas Sir, Sri Ram Murthy S.P., and Smt. Reena Suwarna ACP for their valuable time and guidance. Their support reinforces S.E.A. PU College’s mission to nurture students who are not only academically strong but also socially responsible.
At S.E.A. Composite PU College, we will continue to conduct such initiatives to ensure our campus remains a safe, healthy, and drug-free space for learning and growth.
